A Plaque is Read Up Close and Stays Hung for Years
Much of corporate merchandising is used for a few months and then disappears from the desk. Custom commemorative plaques do not: they are hung on a wall or placed on a desk and can remain there for years. This changes design priorities. The logo is engraved, not printed on vinyl that peels off; the text is composed with generous margins and a clear hierarchy (reason, name, date); and the material is chosen for how it ages, not just for its cost. Acrylic yellows in direct sunlight, while optical glass does not; solid wood scratches and gains a patina, whereas anodised aluminium remains unchanged.
Another detail often underestimated is the text. A plaque with a typo cannot be corrected: it must be reproduced. That's why we always work with a full-size preview of the engraving before starting production, with the final name and date for each unit. The logo is required in vector format (SVG, PDF or AI) because laser engraving follows paths, not pixels; if you only have a PNG, we vectorise it before engraving. Details below 0.3 mm in stroke tend to close up in engraving, so sometimes a simplified version of the logo is advisable.
What Can Be Personalised on a Plaque
- Your company logo laser engraved, sandblasted or UV printed in full colour depending on the material; on metals and glass, the engraving is on the base material, not on a printed layer that might peel off.
- The complete text for each unit: reason, person's name, position, date, and a short dedication. Each plaque can have different text without additional plate change costs.
- Format and dimensions: common formats are 15 × 20 cm and 20 × 25 cm for desktop, and 30 × 20 cm for inauguration wall plaques; also A4 in acrylic.
- Finish and support: wooden or acrylic stand for desk, stainless steel spacers for wall, or flat base with felt. Also individual rigid box for hand delivery.

How a Plaque is Produced with Us
- Design and preview. Send us your logo in vector format and the list of texts (reason, names, dates). We create the composition on the chosen material and send you a full-size preview. Nothing goes into production until you approve the file, letter by letter.
- Production and marking. The material is cut to size and each unit is engraved with its own text. We use CO2 laser for acrylic and wood; fibre laser or photoengraving for metals. For glass, we use internal engraving or sandblasting. Production is per unit: there's no minimum run or plate to amortise.
- Delivery. Each plaque is protected in an individual box and the usual timeframe is two to three weeks from when you approve the preview. You can receive them all together at the office or event venue, or send each one to the honouree's address, anywhere in Europe. A single invoice for the entire order.
When to order a plaque and what to combine it with
The most common reasons are work anniversaries (10, 20 or 25 years with the company), retirements, site or plant openings, and internal awards at a convention or annual ceremony. They are also used to recognise suppliers and distributors, and as a thank-you plaque for a sponsor. In a complete event, fair and congress merchandising, the plaque is the piece presented on stage while the rest of the material is distributed at the entrance table.
A plaque alone might not be enough when someone has been with the company for twenty years. What is the minimum order for plaques?
10 units per order. The order as a whole must also come to at least €100 excluding VAT. They work equally well for an awards ceremony or to recognise an entire cohort: laser engraving doesn't require a plate or tooling, so each plaque can have different text without increasing the order cost. What changes with volume is the price per piece.
How long does it take for an engraved plaque to arrive?
Allow two to three weeks from when you approve the preview, depending on material and quantity. Acrylic and wood are usually the quickest; optical glass and photoengraving on metal take a bit longer. This is an indicative timeframe: we confirm the exact date when finalising the order.
How is the logo engraved on each material?
