Fans have a unique advantage in merchandising: they open up, are held at face height, and can be seen from several metres away. At a July fair or outdoor event, a hundred fans with your brand are a hundred moving printed surfaces. The usable surface is the 'country', which is what the fabric or paper between the ribs is called: in a cardboard fan, it's about 21 × 23 cm of printed cardboard, and in a foldable fan, it's the strip revealed when the ribs are opened. A 'country' with a corporate pattern and a small logo in a corner is kept; a fan with a giant logo and slogan on both sides is discarded. The other advantage is the entry price. A full-colour printed cardboard fan ranges from €0.60 to €1.50 per unit, and a foldable plastic fan with a polyester 'country' costs between €1.20 and €2.50, indicative prices excluding VAT. With these amounts, you can distribute them at a stand without breaking the budget and reserve the bamboo or wood version, priced between €3 and €6, for specific guests. At large events, fans are often paired with custom lanyards and a bottle, all produced and billed together.
What Can Be Customised
- The entire 'country' (fabric or paper) printed in full colour on one or both sides: corporate background, pattern, illustration or photograph, with the logo in a modest size.
- The ribs: pad printing on plastic, laser engraving on bamboo and wood. The engraving leaves a toasted tone mark, without ink, and withstands use.
- The colour of the ribs and the 'country' in standard stock models (natural, black, white, navy blue), or custom colour for large runs.
- The finish: fabric cover, individual box or card with your brand to turn it into a gift detail, not a leaflet.

How It's Done
- Design and Preview. You send us the logo in vector format (SVG, PDF or AI); if you only have a PNG, we vectorise it. We place the artwork on the chosen model and you see the customised fan on screen, with the real size and position of the marking, before approving anything.
- Production and branding. Sublimation for fabric countries, digital printing for cardboard and paper, pad printing or laser engraving for the sticks. We produce from 25 units: you can order 40 fans for a convention or 4,000 for a trade show, and from the moment you approve the preview, allow about two to three weeks for standard models.
- Delivery. To the office, the event venue, or each person's home, across Europe. If each attendee chooses a colour or model, they do so on the Pekata portal, available in seven languages, and you receive a single invoice.
Where They Fit and What They Pair With
The most obvious use is the summer stand: fairs from May to September, congresses in poorly air-conditioned halls, presentations on terraces. Here, the cardboard pai pai and plastic fan fit in, priced below €2.50 each, and they usually go in the same batch as the rest of the event, fair, and congress merchandise. The second, less obvious use is internal: weddings and corporate celebrations, open days or summer staff parties, where the bamboo fan priced between €3 and €6 or the 55 cm open pericón serve as table details.

For normal quantities of standard models, allow about two to three weeks from when you approve the preview, and three to five weeks if the fan has custom-coloured sticks, a case, or an individual box. During the high fair season, between May and June, it's advisable to finalise the artwork with some margin. We don't provide fixed deadlines until the model and quantity are confirmed.
What branding technique is used on a fan?
For polyester fabric countries, sublimation is used, which prints in full colour across the entire surface without increasing the cost by the number of inks. For cardboard and paper, digital printing in full colour on one or both sides. Can the entire fan be printed with a design and not just the logo?
Yes, and it often looks better. With sublimation or digital printing, you can cover the entire country with a pattern, illustration, or event motif, and leave the logo small in a corner or engraved on the stick. We need the logo in vector format (SVG, PDF, or AI); if you only have a PNG, we will vectorise it for you. You'll see the result mounted on the product before approving production.
